our rural project

Norway may seem like a fairytale country. And it really is. Nevertheless we have 40 000 empty farmhouses. Villages die. The last 20 years 40 000 people have fled the countryside.

When you visit  us, you are not a tourist, you are a short term local. You inspire us just by walking past or giving us a smile on a rainy day. Because loneliness, depression and stagnation is the new illness of dying villages.  Digital Nomad societies in a vilage is the new hope, and it makes the houseowner able to keep the buildings. New genertions will probably value the resources we old farmers own, and new eyes telling us what we are set to forvalte, is the future. You are the future by being here. Now. Because if the houses are deserted and eventually demolished, moving back permanently one day will be impossible. Keep up the vibes of rural. Together.

nomad villages to save villages
- our vision

our vision is to connect with neighbouring houses in Bjørkedal and the villages around. In that way we can make a strong understanding about digital nomad life and how to get new life in forgotten villages. And it gets more fun for you DMs, as you can reach each other and make little gatherings between the houses and villages. ALready in 2027 we are ready to start and we have three more houses that will be waiting to host nomads in the most beautifu part of Norway, the West coast. Islands, fjords, glaziers.

welcome to the area where the first travellers started to discover Norway some 200 years ago.

Back then they saved us, and we still need visitors, but to travel slowand with consciousness is better for all of us. And for the nature.

our village project got this deserted schoolhouse in Bjørkedal for free. We are transforming it into a community house where nomads meet villagers, where young meet old where businesses meet housevives. We all have something to learn from each other. Sharing brings inspiration.
for the spring, summer and autumn of 2026 we will be so happy for any help. If you can spend 15 hours a week or more on the project we will need you as a workaway helper.
